Puppies & Available Dogs

We currently do not have any puppies or adults available. To learn more about our most recent litter, please visit curlious2011.blogspot.com.

As a potential owner, you may not care whether the parents of your pup is a Champion, but you should still demand a companion who is free of genetic diseases, and posesses the breed characteristics which drew you to the Chinese Crested in the first place. Talk to many different breeders, ask to see proof of their health clearances, and ask for references!

Our goal is to produce happy, healthy puppies that excel in all walks of life. The first step to achieving that goal is the selection of parents. So, what does it take for a dog to be "approved" for breeding? Here's our bare minimum requirements:

  1. He/She is of a quality that, in our opinion, would have a reasonable likelihood of winning in conformation competition.
  2. He/She has a temperament that, in our opinion, makes it possible for him/her to excel in performance venues.
  3. He/She is an adult. For girls, she has had at least 2 normal seasons, but is not older than 8 years old.
  4. He/She is up to date on health evaluations, primarily the following:
    1. DNA-based prcd-PRA status is known, either through testing done by OptiGen/InGen/Laboklin, or through their parentage. His/Her status must be compatible with the chosen mate as to not produce affected offspring.
    2. DNA-based Primary Lens Luxation (PLL) status is known, either through testing done by OFA, or through their parentage. His/Her status must be compatible with the chosen mate as to not produce affected offspring.
    3. Eyes are certified "normal" by a board certified ophthalmologist (CERF) within 10 months of the date of breeding. This is so that clearance will not expire prior to the litter being whelped. Results must be filed with CERF. While some 'Breeder Options' are acceptable, we ensure both prospective parent's don't exhibit the same option.
    4. Hearing is BAER tested normal, and results filed with the OFA.
    5. Patella's have been evaluated normal, and results filed with the OFA.
    6. Thyroid is evaluated normal, and results filed with the OFA.
    7. Hearts (Cardio) is evaluated normal, and results filed with the OFA.
    8. Both prospective parent's have a negative brucellosis test, performed no longer than 30 days prior to mating.
  5. He/She is registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, American Kennel Club or an FCI-approved Kennel Club.
  6. He/She was not sold by their breeder on a "spay/neuter" contract, limited registration or any similar terms.
  7. In case of girls wanting to use our boys at stud: She is owned by a person(s) who upholds the ethics of the Canadian Kennel Club, who puts the care and well being of the bitch and potential offspring above all else, and who has the resources available to them to successfully raise and care for the potential offspring.
